3 MONTHS OLD

You haven't been back to the doctor yet, but you probably weigh around 13 pounds. I measured you the other day (and although it wasn't accurate) I am pretty sure you are around 24 1/2 inches long. You wear a size one diaper but we like the way size 2 diapers fit you so we will start buying more of those once this pack is out. You wear 0-3 months still. Carters 3 months are fitting you better now. I ended up buying the fleece sweater vest. It is too cute! It obviously wouldn't fit you yet, but it will soon enough! You still need some winter clothes...most of your 6 month outfits are summer outfits.

You are a much better schedule when eating. You eat about 5oz. every 4 hours. The past couple of nights have been difficult with getting you to eat. I don't know why, but hopefully it will go away here soon. I don't think you are that hungry and thats why. You are still on Alimentum and you are still eating rice cereal in it. 1 TBS per oz. You are still a freaky little eater though. You aren't quite when you eat and sometimes you slurp it up and other times you take FOREVER! Oh well, as long as you are growing and you are healthy I will just deal with it.

You are talking more and more. About 3 days ago you just started talking (well your version of talking). You just ohhh and ahhh. I think you like the way you sound when you talk while you have your paci in your mouth. It is the funniest thing. Your vowel sounds are so good! You have started ACTUAL laughing now. It's only every once in a while and I think you only do it when you think someone sounds funny. It's not a long laugh, just a haahuh kind of laugh.

You still startle. I can't put you to bed without being swaddled. I have been trying to lay you down for naps without being swaddled, but it doesn't work very well. I plan on talking to your doctor about it when we go for your 4 month check up.

You still love bath time. You probably won't grow out of tha until you get much much older. You still don't splash or anything but you don't sit up on your own yet so you will begin to enjoy it even more in the next few months. You also still love to be naked!

You still like watching the tv screen. But it still doesn't hold your attention for very long. You like it mostly in the morning.

You wake up now around 8 or 8:30 (sometimes still waking up at 4 and 6 to have paci put back in your mouth) and you will eat and just lay on your mat and talk and talk and talk while you are watching tv. Around 10 you usually want to go back to sleep so I rock ou to sleep so you will take a nap. I have to rock you because you don't really get into deep sleeps on your own. I should really start trying more, but I don't mind it...it's just part of my routine. You usually want a nap aroun 2 or so and 6 or so. Bedtime is sometime between 9 and 10...that all depends on you! But you sleep SO good now. I guess you have just learned that you don't wake up at night to eat so you don't, but you don't eat any more at bedtime than you do during the day. But you are sleeping a total of about 10 hours or so.

You still HATE tummy time. I am trying my best to give you some but I forget to most of the time. That's probably not a good thing for me to forget since it is important for you! I will try better. Maybe once things start slowing down this week I will get better. Anyway, you cry and cry, and cry and get to a point where you won't even hold your head off the ground. I read that maybe I should do small increments throughout the day. I think I will try that. You are holding your head up so good! If we are sitting you up you do such a good job. It's still sort of wobbly, but is so strong! You have almost started rolling over. We get so excited watching you. You try so hard to do it and you get aggravated and start crying when you can't. You still don't have full voluntary control of your arms and legs yet so I think that is probably one reason why. Your arm gets in the way and you don't really know to move it yet. But, you get smarter every day and I am sure you will figure it out soon!

You still don't LOVE the paci but you still can't fall asleep without it. You are sucking on your fingers and hands much more. It's the funniest thing to listen to. I could be across the house and hear you sucking away at them. It's sounds like you are trying to eat them. You are so slobbery. You don't swallow your spit sometimes (well most of the time these days) and you just let it fall out of your mouth. Nana trys to get me to put a bib on you but I forget and sometimes they mess up your cute little outfits.

You are liking your swing a little more. You only like it when you want to like it, which is not often. You are sleeping in it right now. You have been in it for about an hour or so now! You should be waking up soon...

You are back on Zantac now because I didn't think the Prilosec was working. You are still taking Mylanta 4 times a day. You still have bad gas and poot all the time. You poot a lot more at night than you do during the day. They are sooooo smelly! But daddy thinks they are the funniest thing! I guess it's a guy thing!

You are getting more and more hair. It's still just a fuzzy head though...not really long hair! Nana says if you had more hair you could pass as a 6 month old! You're such a Big Boy!

I have started staying home with you because I am going back to school in January. Daddy started a new job that lets me do that! I am loving it. You take more of my time during the day so I don't get TOO much done during the day, but once I get used to it I am sure I will start doing better!

We LOVE you so much and can't wait to see you go through many more milestones!
