Month 5

I had my monthly Dr. visit yesterday. It was very routine. My Quad Screen Test came back negative, so all the testing for genetic disabilities came back negative - No Amnio for Me! Thank the Lord, cause I am not one for needles! So everything seems to be normal...I imagine if it weren't they would have let me know. I have gained 6 pounds just since my last visit! WOW! So that's a total of 12 pounds! Today I am 5 months exactly. Owen is so active! He is constantly moving around. When the doctor was trying to get a read on the heart beat yesterday, she kept laughing b/c he wouldn't stay still long enough for her to get a long read...of course she finally did...but it was funny, and boy was he kicking then too! It was a happy visit! My next visit I have to have a glucose test...yuck...more blood drawn and a nasty drink! But it's all for the best! I Can NOT wait to start on the room! We are waiting for our tax return before we start. We also are waiting on the bedding b/c we want to match colors as best as possible! I am so excited about that! I love redoing rooms and this one is going to be so much fun! I finally picked out an outfit for him to come home in. It's just a soft cotton outfit that is light blue and white stripes with a little hood to match! It may be too warm for the hood, but we will see!

So, as of right now, Owen is about the size of a Papaya. He should be about 10.5 inches long and should weigh about 12.7 oz. He should now be able to hear noises from outside the womb. His face is fully formed. He is also beginning to settle into sleeping patterns. It's not too consistent, but he's getting there. Yesterday was different...I don't think he was still one time during the day. But most days he should be sleeping about 12 to 14 hours! Talk about a good nights rest!

Feeling Large Today

I definately feel large today! Even Charlie made a comment about how I am REALLY starting to show now. Most of my clothes have been hiding it (not that I am trying to or want to) and now, nothing really hides it. This weekend I went dress shopping with my sister and some family. It was a lot of fun and I can't believe she found her dress so soon...but it is so Beautiful and she is going to be the most beautiful bride! Anyway, we went to a boutique that I went to A LOT when I was planning my wedding, so the owner remembered me. As soon as she realized who I was she came up to me and started rubbing my belly! When we left I was telling my mom and sister that she was being kind of risky coming up to me and rubbing my belly. My mom and my sister gave me this look like what are you talking about. I just said it's not like you could really tell that I am pregnant right now. They both looked at each other and looked at me and just started dying out laughing. Then my sister said No boo boo you can definately tell you are prego, there was nothing risky about her rubbing on your belly. We all got a laugh out of it...who was I kidding!!!

Anyway, so today I am 21 weeks. I feel a little uncomfortable today. The belly is definately tighter today than it has been...maybe it's just in my head! Regardless, just getting in and out of the car is a tiny bit more difficult than before!

Owen is as big as a BANANA! He should be around 10.5 inches long and should weigh around 12.7 oz. I can't believe he should have grown 4 inches in 7 days! He is practicing swallowing and drinks several ounces of amniotic fluid a day for hydration and nutrition. He now has taste buds! Now that he is drinking amniotic fluid, studies show that he is likely to acquire a taste for stuff he tastes from the amniotic fluid. This means I should watch what I EAT!

Big Time Baby Bump

So I am now 20 weeks and 1 day pregnant! I feel Owen moving everyday and it gets more and more distinct everyday. Owen is now as big as a cantaloupe. He is 6.5 inches long and weighs 10.6 oz. That's pretty much all there is to post about. I will have my doctors appointment in about 3 weeks and hopefully have something more to write about.
