8 Months

Your 9 month appointment is on March 21, so we STILL don’t know how much you weigh! I can’t wait to see how much you have grown…you are a hawse! You are in size 6-9 Month Clothes!

You eat from 8-9oz of soy every 4 hours with 2TBS of rice cereal. You don’t really spit up anymore. You hold your own bottle, except you haven’t figured out how to hold it up to get the formula out when you are sitting up, so you have to recline back or lay down to eat. You eat about 2 ½ - 3 jars of 2nd Food Baby Food twice a day. You aren’t a fan of carrots and sweet potatoes anymore…I can get you to eat the carrots a little, but definitely NO sweet potatoes. So you eat 1 green vegetable, 1 orange/yellow vegetable, and 2 fruits a day. No solids yet, because no teeth yet! Wondering if that’s normal and will be talking to the Dr. about that at your 9 month check up!

You babble ALL day EVERY day…I love it when you talk! Just today, I swear you were having a conversation with our cat pumpkin. He was outside, but you were sitting by the window where he sits outside and you can hear him through the window. He would meow and you would just go to town! You had me cracking up! You can say so many things now…you are using g’s and r’s and p’s now! You are literally EVERYWHERE and into EVERYTHING! I don’t know what I am going to do when you start walking. I can’t remember when you started pulling up onto your feet but it was sometime in January. You took your first real step while holding on to me on February 21. You started giving us “kisses” on March 4.

You are better about me leaving the room because you have realized all you have to do is crawl to me! Thank goodness that is over with …for now anyway!

Sleep is great! We lay you down and you go right to sleep…as per usual, you have your nights (like tonight) where you fight sleep and won’t just lay down! As a mom I don’t think I will ever get used to that! Just eats me up having to listen to you cry…and it’s not always a “oh my poor baby” eat me up either…sometimes I get so frustrated with you, but it’s the best thing for all of us to just let you cry a little. It never fails though, without a doubt, if you aren’t at your house and in your bed, you are gonna cry before you go to sleep, no matter how tired you are! You nap great too! You take 2 naps…one is about 2 hours long and the other is about 1 ½ hours long.

You aren’t a huge laugher, but like I said before, Daddy can get you going real good…he’s still the only one who can make you laugh the most! You love him so much! You get WAY excited when he comes home from being at work or a game! It is the sweetest thing!

Your 1st birthday is coming up soon and I can’t believe how fast it got here. Some days it seems like it took forever, but for the most part, I think about it and can’t believe how the time has literally flown by! It has been such an experience watching you grow! I love every minute of it…well…no I’m kidding…every minute…even if I have to look back on the minute to enjoy it.
